Flagship Corporate Campus
Zhaotai International Center Tower A & B Interior Design
Located in Chaoyangmen, Beijing, this super Grade-A premium office building was co-created by the owner and a consortium of renowned international design firms to serve as a global corporate headquarters hub. Our team initially engaged as interior design consultants and was commissioned to deliver the final scheme and implementation design.
Contextual Field
Situated in the CBD, the project comprises two towers and a podium, approaching a height of one hundred meters with panoramic views of the ancient capital within Beijing's Second Ring Road. At this intersection of historical legacy and future innovation, culture and urban vitality converge. Through years of meticulous collaboration, we prioritized the public dimension of architecture, exploring spatial essence to manifest contemporary expressions of humanistic spirit.
Logical Organization
The design scope encompasses public zones including the lobby, commercial promenade, elevator cores, circulation corridors, and multi-functional halls. The lobby bridges the north and south towers, spanning nearly 100 meters with a 2,000 sqm footprint, featuring an external ring corridor and internal core structure. The commercial promenade's bridge transitions from two to three levels in elevation, while the multi-functional hall offers a vast, adaptable volume. Defined by external curtain walls, internal volumes, and ceiling planes, the lobby's monumental scale caters to corporate headquarters needs. After rigorous analysis, the design concept crystallized into extracting the site's core essence, orchestrating spatial rhythm through tectonic organization.
Peripheral Refinement
Opportunities to conceal floor heating systems were leveraged to clarify the colonnade's order, sharply delineating interior and exterior domains. The core volume was preserved with elevated elevator hall entrances to convey grandeur. The ceiling design manifests geometric sculptural rigor, subtly echoing subsequent artworks.
Interface Texture
Materials integrate organically with architecture rather than being applied as surface treatments. Light gray matte stone harmonizes with columns and cores, while floors feature crystalline granite with feather-like veining. Ceilings employ silver-gray matte aluminum panels with perforated mesh sides to dissolve structural mass. Multi-functional hall walls utilize fabric-absorbing panels to ensure acoustic excellence for diverse meeting scenarios.
Light and Illumination
The east-facing lobby welcomes morning light with atmospheric clarity. North and east ends, serving as backlit vertical circulation nodes, transition into luminous onyx walls that infuse elevator areas with warmth. Sunset dapples offer solace to evening commuters. Translucent ceilings transform promenade bridges into temporal passageways, while concealed cove lights softly illuminate the multi-functional hall's expansive surfaces.
Humanistic Spirit
Workplaces serve not merely as physical entities but as vessels for human experience. Our design prioritizes humanistic care. Throughout the building, at unexpected turns and staggered levels, contemporary art encounters visitors—fluid stainless steel sculptures evoking distant eras, folding multimedia installations metaphorizing urban dynamism. Free art dialogues with understated architecture, transforming offices into immersive galleries.
Spatial Ambience
Historical depth is distilled into a monochrome palette, evoking ink-wash painting imaginaries that guide limited interfaces toward infinite temporal dimensions. Pure architectural language engages with contemporary art to abstractly interpret Eastern aesthetics.
