The Design Concept of Xupin Tea Thing
Project : Xupin Tea Thing
Location: Urumqi
Area: 270 m2
Materials: Brick, Bamboo,Tile, Wood Puzzle, Lamp of Bamboo Weaving
Designer: Jang goo sin
If you don’t understand the old saying, One Tea One Life, maybe the brand name of Xupin Tea Thing could explain for you clearly.
In Chinese, Xu means talking, about the past and life etc.
Pin means tasting, the sweets and bitters of life.
Tea means making tea and having tea.
Things means all thing in life, sad or happy.
Maybe, the above four words will clarify the life.
We use common material such as bamboo, soil and tile in this design because we believe that it’s for enjoying lives with tea and so natural design natural in decoration is must, and also the old yellow and dark red are used as main colour.
As the old saying, rather no meat not no bamboo, bamboo can not be absence in this the space of Tea.From the entrance, you will see a long bamboo grave aside the aisle. Light is reflected from the wall onto the bamboo. The dark red tiles have been tightly paved on the ground, in which it’s like the ancient residence.
The roof is covered by red tile tightly, echoing with the ground.
The reception counter, at the end of aisle, is made of rough stone under an interesting lamp made of carrying bamboo pole. Aside the way to the washroom, some lovely spherical lamps made of bamboo weaving standing there and the light peaking from the cracks of lamp illuminates onto the wall and ground warmly.
The washroom is decorated by red ancient brick, wooded washbasin, and white dry wood. Batten of different width paved on the wall hide the door of washroom in the wall. A little wall lamp made of tile is hung on the door of every box.
A high deportation with black squire tubes and red tiles has separated the aisle into two parts. The wooden door with long lintel looks like the door we saw in our childhood.
At the end of this aisle, you will see a waterscape. Deep in the water, you will see some sharp stones. Glance in the mirror standing behind in the pool, you will see some overlapped bambo lamps deeply projected from the top of pool.
In such peaceful space, we hope you could be touched by the taste of tea and the feeling of owner.
